Centre Managers Report 2017-2018 On behalf of CHCLC we are proud to present the 2017-2018 Annual Report. This report highlights the important work the Centre has undertaken over the last year, providing much needed legal and non-legal services to people in the Central Highlands and Wimmera regions of Victoria.
We have continued over the last year to find ways to better meet the diverse and complex needs of our clients, in particular those affected by family violence, whilst maintaining the ability to provide quality, accessible legal services to those in the local community who would otherwise be without such help.
With all of the challenges and changes throughout the year, CHCLC continued to create new partnerships and innovative projects, in particular projects enhancing existing family violence services in Ballarat, Ararat & Stawell. Family Violence Duty Lawyer Services were provided in Ararat & Stawell, Financial Counselling services were provided locally to women affected by Family Violence and earlier this year a new project called Compass was established to provide non-legal support to clients.
I am enormously grateful to our highly skilled staff and dedicated volunteers for making all of these programs come into fruition, as well as to the Committee of Management who give their valuable time and expertise in governing and developing our organisation.
